I have had the pleasure of leading these wonderful children along their Faith journey toward making their First Holy Communion. They have been a fantastic hard working group who each week reflect on their faith and make notes in their journals. They will soon be bringing the journals home to share with their families. I was very proud of them all on Sunday and hope they all had a lovely day.
We had lots of fun today during PE using the parachute. We played lots of games which included time under the parachute too. 
Following our planting of sunflowers seeds last week, this week we looked at the work of Van Gogh. We discussed his working and looked at various paintings he created. We were inspired by his painting “Sunflowers” and created some wonderful artwork of our own. We used oil pastels then a was of paint to create a mosaic effect. We love how they have turned out.
Have a look at our planting progress. The grass heads hair is measuring between 14cm and 22cm. The sunflowers are beginning to shoot. We will keep you up to date with he progress over the next few weeks.
In maths today we went outdoor to measure. We measured items in the playground, then collected sticks and leaves to order them into biggest to smallest. Mrs Brankin was so proud to see team work and co-operation as we gathered together to organise all the sticks.
Look at our grass after 1 week! We have been watering it every other day.
Today we learnt about the different parts of a plant and the seed cycle. We then planted sunflower seeds and are going to record their growth over next few weeks.
To link learning with measurement and minibeasts we planted some grass seeds in P3. Over the next few weeks we are going to keep a record of how tall the grass goes, we will then transfer it into the playground to see if we can attract any minibeasts.
