Scaramental group had a special visitor!
We were joined by a special visitor durning this weeks sacramental group preparation. Mgr. McBride came to talk about the symbols in baptism. The children shared stories about their baptism and even had photographs of their special day. The children have been given prayers to learn at home in preparation for their Rite of Reconsilation in March.
Pivot Animator
Together with learning partners, we have been creating our own story animations using Pivot Animator and Paint tool. The story is set on the scene of the BFG by Roald Dhal which we have been reading in class. The scene is when Sophie the little girl is hiding from Bloodbottler (an evil giant) who is trying to eat her. The BFG is trying to distract Bloodbottler from finding Sophie. We will be working further on these animations in the next few weeks and will share our finished animations.
P4/5 Badminton
Over the last few weeks p4/5 have been developing their Badminton skills. They have been learning the different kinds of shots and how to apply them in a game. Today using the learning pit the children self-assessed their ability to hit effectively.
Clock hats
In maths this week we made clock hats to wear whilst playing a game of “what time is it?” We had to set our learning partners clock to a time on their head for them to then ask questions to get to the correct time.
Love Bugs!
After reading the story ‘The Love Bugs’ we discussed loving someone within our family and why at times it is important to say ‘I love you’. We then went on to make our own love bugs which we will give to a loved one on Valentines day.
Balloon Badminton
we have been practicing 3 different shots in badminton- forehand, backhand and over-head. We have used balloons to help us improve our hand and eye co-ordination.
What’s the time?
