We have recently had a change in our upper playground with our games of football, due to several arguments between pupils. The JLT did a survey to see if pupils thought football should be banned or not and why. There was a variety of answers with most people wanting it to be allowed in the playgrounds but with a large number also saying they didn’t like when they got hit with the balls. So the JLT listened to this feedback and met with playground staff and Mrs Lowden to come up with a plan. We changed how football is played and where it is played and it is now coned off in a certain area in the big playground and we agreed that we would trial it not being played on a Wednesday so that pupils had the chance to use this playground space for other acitvities. Mrs Lowden also spoke with our Junior Health and Wellbeing Team who are going to do an audit of playground resources and together we will work out the best plan for moving forward to ensure a happy playtime 🙂
