Jen Harwood was visiting Our Lady’s RC Primary today to say a big Thank You for the part they played in helping to make the First Minister’s Reading Challenge such a success.

Excitement is mounting for tomorrow’s Dundee Picture Book Award Ceremony. Great rehearsal today at the Whitehall Theatre, well done Mill of Mains:-)

We went to the results of DARE today. Oh my goodness what an incredible display of talent! Senior pupils worked in teams over a 5 day period to create 2D computer games and they were awesome!  Have a look at their concept boards, which are NOTHING in comparison to their actual games. The future of the gaming industry in Dundee looks to be in very safe hands:-)

Our Lady’s display for the event

Our Lady’s RC Primary played a very important role in the success of this the first year of the initiative.  The Scottish Book Trust administer the Challenge and wanted to closely follow a school to help them with future development.  Our Lady’s completely stepped up to the plate, even forfeiting their right to enter any of the competitions.  To read about and see some of their incredible work click here

Today was the last rehearsal in Mill of Mains Primary.

Next week we will be practising in the Whitehall Theatre in readiness for the BIG EVENT on Wednesday.

Everyone has been working really hard and it was lovely to see this paying off today.

Things are hotting up as we get closer to the Award Ceremony!  Schools have been busy over the last few months reading the four short-listed titles to the P1s, creating displays for their local libraries, and, voting for their favourite title.

Pupils from Mill of Mains primary are hosting the Award Ceremony this year and rehearsals are well underway!
