Learning Showcase Assembly

Groups from all classes showed off some of their learning at our final assembly of the term yesterday. Skills in and knowlege about Modern Languages (French and Spanish Raps), Story Writing, Model Making, Dinosaurs, Measuring, Chinese Dragons, Space and the Planets, Andy Warhol-style paintings, the Good Samaritan story, Singing and the Sound of Music were all on show, along with lots of other things and our Weekly Reward Certificate winners. Andrew in P2/3L also won an toy Bunny in a Mary’s Meals raffle. Well done, everyone, lots of learning this term and lots of effort. Have a well deserved holiday!

Leng Medal Winner

Big congratulations to Kian McGinnis, our 2011 Leng Medal winner. Kian came out on top in a strong competition judged by Mrs Bromage, Principal Music Teacher from St Paul’s. Very well done to Kian, and to Megan McKenzie, who was also highly commended. Kian will be performing his winning song, Mhairi’s Wedding, at our Learning Showcase Assembly this afternoon and has promised to sing at the end of session Prizegiving.

Tesco Voucher Collection

It’s that time of year again! Please collect and send in your vouchers (and scrounge them off family/friends/workmates/anyone!) to help us to get valuable equipment for the school. Last year’s vouchers (combined with the ‘lost’ ones from the previous year!) bought us lots of active learning equipment across the school and made a real difference to our learning resources. The voucher collection has become a big part of resourcing for the school and your support is vital for this and much valued.

Keep them coming, please!

Award Winning St Clement’s

Mr Nicoll from the Education Department came along to Assembly last week to present us with our Health Promoting Schools Silver Award. The shield is now proudly on display in our trophy cabinet. Mr Nicoll spoke about how much the award team had enjoyed their visit to St Clement’s and how impressed they were with our health and wellbeing promotion efforts. Mr Nicoll also wrote later to thank us for the lovely assembly and to compliment everyone on the warmth of the welcome he received and the positive, friendly atmosphere in the school. WELL DONE, EVERYONE!
