P5E – 20/9/19

Roman Numerals – We continued working on Roman numerals this week as part of our topic and maths. We converted numbers into Roman numerals and then added them together. Some of us were able to memorise the 7 roman numeral letters and what they represent.

Roman houses and building –

We researched roman houses and buildings using the laptops to see what we could find out, we then shared what we had found and made our own pictures of Roman houses. Ask me to tell you the different types of Roman houses and who lived in them…

Writing – We continued to practice our skills in writing letters. This week we wrote letters to Jaya and Jad to thank them for helping Roz escape, we were writing our letter from Roz’s perspective.

Science – In science we have been learning about living things. We are all able to explain what a vertebrate and an invertebrate is. We then went out to the playground on an animal hunt and when we found an animal we had to group them into vertebrates and invertebrates.

Here are some of the animals we found in our playground…

Vertebrates – people, pigeons, seagulls, cats, crows and toads.

Invertebrates – Beetles, bees, flies, spiders, ladybirds, wasps, snails, butterflies, caterpillars, moths and slugs.

Quotes of the week
