Tapestry

Primary 5 have been involved in the Great Tapestry Workshop.  They have been learning about the history of Alloa and have worked together to create their own Alloa history tapestry.

The tapestry will be on display in the Spears Centre in Alloa over the summer holidays.  It ia a great opportunity to see your child’s work on display.

This week…

Maths

We have got really good at multiplication and are now learning to divide.

 

We played a dominions division game.

 

Science – Nervous System

This is what we learnt:

The brain is the main organ of the nervous system – Hannah

The nervos system is made up from the brain, nerves and spinal cord. – Rosie

I learned that are sense of smell helps us to taste our food.  This is why food taste funny when you have the cold. – Kayla

During the taste test, we had our eyes covered and had to hold our nose as we tasted a small piece of apple and potato and then tell the difference. – Raegan

It was hard to tell the difference between the potato and apple – Hannah

The nervous sends messages to your brain and back.  So if you touch something hot, a message will be sent to your brain to say it is hot and remove hand. – Steven E
