RME

We have been learning about Islam.  We watched video clips about Muslims in the mosque and how they live their lives.  In groups we  crated posters  about the five core values of Muslims.

Science

We have been learning about the animal kingdom and how they are split into two main groups: vertebrates and  invertebrates.

We played an insects game, we watch videos learning about different living things  and then we did a group activity.  We had different species on a piece of paper, we had to sort them into invertebrates and  vertebrates. Then we learned vertebrates are split into 5 main groups birds, fish, amphibians, mammals and reptiles.

Digital Ninjas

We worked with p4 and showed them how to use the app comic life.  We had to do number problems and guide our partner through each step. The p4 had to solve the number problem and explain each step which was recorded by pictures and text.  It was fun!

This week we have been learning…

Literacy

In writing, we had to redraft our story on the computer,  with focusing on improving our setting.  We came up with lots of ideas to describe the field next to the woods where all of our stories start.

Also we have been developing our use of conjunctions and using commas within our writing.

Maths

We have continued learning about different units of measure, focusing on what would be an appropriate measuring tool to measure different things in our environment.  We are getting really good at recording measure in various ways, for example, 1m 17cm, 117cm, 1.17m

Science

We have started learning about Classification on animal groups and looking at different features of an animal.  We completed various group activities.

Digital Ninjas

The blogging group have been working with four P7 pupils to teach them how to write their class blog.

To celebrate world book week, each class had to turn their classroom door into a book cover.  We choose our class novel, Billionaire Boy.

We dressed up as our favourite book characters.

We worked with P3R

this week to show them how to create an Adobe Slate about themselves.  We were partnered up with a P3 , first we had to plan and then together with our P3 we created an Abode Slate.  We had to show them how to take pictures, take images from online and add video recordings.

Last week P5 competed in the final round of P5 Fun Athletics.  They were up against schools in Clackmannanshire and Stirling.  We had a brilliant time and came fourth.
