Staffing

Unfortunately, Mrs Kelly and Mrs Moore will be leaving us at the end of this session. We would like to thank them for their hard work; they have been an asset to the team and will be missed by children and staff.

We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Miss Tasker who will be joining us in August 2017. She will work alongside Mrs Stanners and the Cloud group.

Community Police Officer

Recently we have been learning about the different jobs people do. Our community police officer, PC Allen, came to talk to us about his job.

We learned:

  • how to contact the Police.
  • how the Police can help us.
  • about some of the equipment the Police use.
  • why there are different sirens on a Police car/van.

The nursery children were also able to ask PC Allen questions.

Caterpillars to Butterflies

Nursery children have enjoyed keeping a close eye on our caterpillars. We were very careful with them. Some of us even saw the butterflies hatching from their chrysalis.

We created a chart to record how many days it took for them to change into butterflies. It took 26 days!

One sunny day, we released the butterflies into the garden.

Wee Scones

The Nursery children have been working very hard to create a Cafe which will soon be opening for family, friends and members of the community.

Children have chosen the centre pieces for each table, created menus, designed their own placemats, created signs and have been practising taking on different roles. We also spoke about the safety aspects of a cafe.

The cafe has given the children real life experiences.

This week we invited some staff from the school to attend our Cafe. They enjoyed tea, coffee, juice and a selection of cakes.
