Friday Assembly
We talked about our new class boards that are going on display in the assembly hall with each class choosing a book to display.
We asked for ideas to be shared with pupil council reps about how we can contribute to Sport Relief at the end of the month.
We also talked about our Scottish Assembly next Thursday and the Poetry Competition Finals that will take place this afternoon. We wished all finalists good luck.
Bruce House Captains , gave out Numeracy Star awards.
Numeracy Stars for this week are Kailyn ,Thomas W , Ruaridh , Aimee Gl, Luke, Declan and Katia .
Schaw House Captain , gave out Literacy Stars for this week. They are Euan , Thomas N, Billierose, Ronald, Karli & Leah, Charlie and Antosia.
Star Pupils for this week, awarded by Wallace House Captains, Chloe W, Jake K , Brianna , Aimee Gi , Finn & Luke, Chloe Mc and Katy .
Makaton Signers of the week are Phoebe , Shane , Amber and Connor ! They were presented with their certificates by Stewart House Captains.

Friday Assembly ~ 12th January 2108
Welcome back and Happy New Year to you all.
This is going to be a very busy term with lots of fun learning taking place. Some of the classes were able to share their contexts for learning during our assembly.
Primary 5/6 and Primary 6/7 will be developing enterprise and skills for life through Mycro Tyco.
Primary 4 are learning about being Fit for Life and Primary 3 are learning about water, capacity and science topics.
Primary 1R, 1W and 2 have yet to share their contexts for learning. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.
We wished our P6s and P7s well for this afternoon’s badmintonfinals at Lornshill Academy.

Primary 1 Enrolments for August 2018
Enrolment sessions for children who are due to start school in August 2018 will take place between 1:30 and 2:30 on Monday 15 January and Wednesday 17 January.
Parents/cares should bring a copy of birth certificate and proof of address for our records.
Staffing Update
Mrs McKenzie, Acting Depute, will be
taking up a new post within another local
authority in the New Year. Mrs McKenzie
has been invaluable in supporting all of us in
our improvement journey and has
developed good relationships with all of the
children and staff, particularly Primary 4,
since August. Mrs McKenzie will be greatly
missed and we wish her all the very best in
her new post.
Mrs McDowall will return from maternity
leave as class teacher to Primary 4 on 22
January.
Mrs Kelly, Principal Teacher, will
work with Primary 4 full time until then.
Mrs Kelly, Depute Headteacher, will return
from maternity leave on 19 February. We
very much look forward to welcoming both
Mrs McDowall and Mrs Kelly, back to
Deerpark.
Angela Coulter, Early Intervention Team,
left for a new job early in December.
Vicky Mosettig will be taking over from
Angela in the New Year.
Groupcall Messenger
From January 2018, our main form of
communication will be via Groupcall
Messenger. This system is used by most
secondary schools and some primaries and
allows us to contact the right people at the
right time via text message, email,
voicemail, Xpressions App or letter.
Information about this has already been
sent home and posted on Class dojo. So
that we can make sure that you receive all
relevant information, we need up to date
mobile telephone numbers and email
address for the main contact. If you
haven’t already returned the Groupcall
Messenger Contact Information slip, please
do so as soon as possible as almost all
information will be sent out in this way.

Friday Assembly
It was great to see so many children and staff taking part in our efforts to raise money for Children In Need by wearing onesies or pyjamas.
It was a very colourful asssembly with lots of minions,superheros, disney princesses, animals, spots and Pudseys!
We raised £128.75!!!! Well done everyone!
