Focus on Wearing Uniform

Since the start of Term 3, we have had a renewed focus on wearing school uniform.

This was after consultation with parents / carers, children and staff.

It is important for the children to feel part of their school ‘team’ and feel pride in representing their school.

It is also recognised that wearing school uniform enables children to feel equal with their peers and prevents issues over children having / not having designer clothes or labels (a cause of bullying).

As a school we are now monitoring who is / is not wearing uniform and are recording this.

Children who wear uniform every day within the school month will be rewarded with an extra playtime. As well as this, we expect those children who represent the school at events and as teams to wear school uniform.

After analysing our records, the following percentages show children who wore uniform every day in January: P1: 100% P2: 77% P3:78% P4: 65% P5: 64% P6: 80% P7: 58%

Without doubt, these percentages require improvement and for this we need the support of parents / carers at home.
