Lots of maths learning through play today. This terms maths focus is weight and volume. We are also continuing with counting in multiples and partitioning numbers.

Christmas Jumper Day
We have had a super Christmas Jumper Day! 🎅🏼
We completed dot to dots for numeracy and continued to look at our book ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’. We made sleighs in construction, characters from the story using play dough and also designed Christmas jumpers.
We are also enjoying watching the pantomime!!

Super numeracy work today! We have been learning how to count in 2s using numicon to help us. 🌟
Maths Fun
Lots of maths fun this morning 🔢. We used numicon to solve addition and subtraction calculations, played snakes and ladders to practise counting and we ordered and identified coins. Some of us also began to look at multiplication by making arrays. 🌟

Maths Week
As part of Maths Week Scotland we completed a shape hunt today. We started by looking in the class for different shapes and we then went outside to find more. We learned that shapes are all around us!! 🟧🟣🔷🔺
Shapes
Today we were learning about different shapes. The boys and girls made shapes using lollipop sticks and matched them to the pictures. They then found the number block that matched how many edges that shape had. 🔺🟩🟡🛑
