Flags and crowns P5B

Hello,

This week we have been celebrating the King’s Coronation. We have been making been making crowns and flags and it took us all week to do our crowns. Our flags showed the British flag. Some of us made mistakes when colouring it in but it made them all unique. It didn’t take as long as we thought it would to make all these flags but then after we got to wave them around in the tea party today. The flags had paper straws so we could hold them and they didn’t fall out of our hand, they were very good looking and was such a great idea they were curling up sometimes which took a while do un-curl them but it was great fun!

Litter Pick Around The Community!

Hello,

On the 26/04/23 this week, P6/7C had fun doing a litter pick.

The event was starting from St Andrews and the furthest we walked was up to James Ramsey.

We had a lot of people and parents helping which made it even better. We were allocated into partners and were given claws to pick up litter and trash bags. Some of us managed to find some extraordinary things, someone even managed to find a fish slice! P6/7C had fun doing this and we cleaned part of the area, free from litter!

King Charles III Coronation Song

Hello,

This week as a school we have all been learning about the King’s upcoming coronation. Throughout our learning, we have learnt a fun and catchy song. We will be singing this song at our celebration Tea Party next Friday. The song lyrics are shown below:

Coronation Day

Young and old throughout the nation,

Here’s a day for celebration!

Time to pop a cork or two

And wave the old red, white and blue!

So gather friends and family,

We’re all a part of history.

Let the drums and trumpets sound,

Today’s the day our king is crowned…

Chorus: So, give King Charles the 3rd

The biggest cheer he’s ever heard!

Loudly, proudly shout HOORAY!

On this, his Coronation Day!

In the Street we’ll throw a party!

Lay the tables, light the barbie,

Bake a cake for all to share,

There’s a coronation chicken! Yeah!

So come together everyone,

Our voices raised in joyful song.

Let the drums and trumpets sound,

Today’s the day our king is crowned.

Repeat chorus x2

We can’t wait to celebrate next week and share it with you all.
