A Week in P5J

Hello,

This week has been really fun in P5J. Today we were making some paper crowns in our class and colouring them in. We also were making some flags to celebrate the King’s Coronation.

We had a dress down day and assembly for Jamsie – he is really fun!

Yesterday we did some bunting which will be displayed around the school for our celebration next Friday.

This terms topic for us is different types of energy including:

Heat, Light, Kinetic, Chemical, Nuclear, Mechanical, Sound, Electrical and also one thing that we know is that energy cannot be created nor destroyed but only changed.

This was a really fun week.

Dress Down Day & Hot Chocolate

Hello,

Today was Dress Down Day. This is when we all get to dress in non-school uniform. There was no theme today so we just got to wear what we wanted and we got to see a lot of different and cool outfits! Its great when you do not have to wear uniform as you do not have to change when we get home from school.

Every friday we have two pupils chosen for hot chocolate, The Head Teachers chooses the learning  dispositions. which changes each week. The teacher of the class chooses who is been showing the best example of these dispositions. As a treat the get to have yummy hot chocolate with the head teacher and get you also get your photo up on the following weeks online assembly.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks blog!

King’s Coronation Craft

Hello,

This week P6/7C was designing new 50p coins with King Charles face. We completed this activity using the disposition creative and independent. We used paper, glitter, crayons, scissors and tissue paper to complete our art activity. As a class, we all came up with different designs and all of the 50p coins turned out really nice. When we did the glitter it got a bit messy. We all had really good fun and enjoyed it all.

Here is an example of our designs below, we hope you like them and hope to see them in the shops soon!

Lego Castle P5B – King’s Coronation Construction

Hello guys,

This week P5B completed a lego castle activity. Our teacher gave us instructions in groups of 3 to build a structure which looked like a castle. We took over 2 hours to complete it but it was worth it as it was SO fun! We did this as activity to celebrate the King’s Coronation next week. There will be a prize for the best structure.

We can’t wait to find out!!

Litter Pick Around The Community!

Hello,

On the 26/04/23 this week, P6/7C had fun doing a litter pick.

The event was starting from St Andrews and the furthest we walked was up to James Ramsey.

We had a lot of people and parents helping which made it even better. We were allocated into partners and were given claws to pick up litter and trash bags. Some of us managed to find some extraordinary things, someone even managed to find a fish slice! P6/7C had fun doing this and we cleaned part of the area, free from litter!

King’s Coronation Crafts

Hello

This week in P5J we were taking part in making crafts for the King’s Coronation celebration. We were colouring in flags with things to do with the royal family. This included things like corgis, crowns, and pictures of the king. We made them using  the Union Jack colours: blue, white and red. As a class we are very excited about the King’s Coronation celebrations. We can’t wait to show off our flags and other crafts we have made.

We hope you enjoyed this weeks blog!

King Charles III Coronation Song

Hello,

This week as a school we have all been learning about the King’s upcoming coronation. Throughout our learning, we have learnt a fun and catchy song. We will be singing this song at our celebration Tea Party next Friday. The song lyrics are shown below:

Coronation Day

Young and old throughout the nation,

Here’s a day for celebration!

Time to pop a cork or two

And wave the old red, white and blue!

So gather friends and family,

We’re all a part of history.

Let the drums and trumpets sound,

Today’s the day our king is crowned…

Chorus: So, give King Charles the 3rd

The biggest cheer he’s ever heard!

Loudly, proudly shout HOORAY!

On this, his Coronation Day!

In the Street we’ll throw a party!

Lay the tables, light the barbie,

Bake a cake for all to share,

There’s a coronation chicken! Yeah!

So come together everyone,

Our voices raised in joyful song.

Let the drums and trumpets sound,

Today’s the day our king is crowned.

Repeat chorus x2

We can’t wait to celebrate next week and share it with you all.
