P4S – Bear Grylls Adventure

Primary 4S have arrived at their final destination of our Bear Grylls adventure; the Rainforest!

We have been learning all about the different layers of the forest and the numerous plants and animals within it. We have also been learning about how animals and plants have to make adaptations to survive in such tropical conditions. We have really enjoyed creating and designing our very own rainforest animals too.

Next week we will be learning about deforestation and comparing life in the Rainforest to life in Banchory.

Mrs Stephen has been so impressed with how engaged and eager we all are to learn more!

P4L – Talk4Writing

P4L have been using Talk4Writing to develop their Story Writing Skills. They have used Story Maps and Acting It Out to help them learn the story of ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ by Lynne Cherry.  We then used the story as inspiration to write our own Great Kapok Tree stories.  We used each part of the Story Mountain: Opening, Build-up, Problem, Resolution and Ending.  We worked on each section as a whole class before writing our own version of it.
