Today we made a play dough submarine using a fan, different coloured play dough, a buzzer and a battery pack.
We worked together to shape the play dough and conduct the electricity through to power our submarine. When the batteries are turned on, it powers the fan and buzzer through the play dough.
Last week during home learning and in school, we increased our knowledge and understanding of static electricity.
We watched a video to learn all about Static Electricity, we know now what static electricity is, we can give examples of static and have found some fun and interesting facts.
Tune in to our next blog post on static electricity snakes !
Today we made a circuit again but we had a break in the circuit so we had to find items to complete the circuit. We used a spoon, a plate, glasses case and more. The plate and a pencil case did not work 🙁 We were given a buzzer at the end and it gave us a headache! Like last time we used copper tape to let the electricity ⚡️ through.
Today the orange group have been finding out what conducts and what doesn’t.
(We only had to follow a diagram)
First we cut the copper tape and stuck it down in a circuit formation.
2. Then we stuck down the wires and the battery.
3. We stuck down the light next to the copper tape.
4. We left a gap in the circuit.
5. Then we turned on the battery.
6. Then we found things to put on the gap to make the light glow up. The wooden spoon, the Duplo and the ruler didn’t conduct electricity but the potato masher, the tin and the metal spoon did conduct electricity.
