Next term P1 will finish learning the alphabet and focus on rhyming families. Then they will move on to learning 2 letter sounds.

P2 will be working on new spelling patterns and high frequency words. They will expand their writing by using connectives and ordering. P1 will begin to write their own sentences.

P3/4 – Numeracy

We learned about Money and focused on coin/note recognition, counting money, and giving change. We linked our money lessons to Health and Wellbeing, discussing where money comes from, why it is important to save money, and the difference between wants and needs.

Next term in maths, P3/4 will learn about Multiplication and Division, as well as Time. With Miss Davie, the children will learn about Angles and Symmetry.

P3/4 – Literacy

P3/4 have worked hard this term to plan and write letters to Julia Donaldson. We have also focused on descriptive writing and the children have written pieces describing characters and settings using adjectives. We created fantastic persuasive posters to encourage others to use the internet safely. We have learned about using exclamation marks, question marks, speech marks and conjunctions in our writing.

We have continued to learn a new spelling rule each week, practising our spelling words in lots of different ways.
