Fitness in P5/6/7

This term P5/6/7 have been working on the 10 physical skills of fitness: agility, accuracy, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, endurance, stamina, speed, strength, power. They have also been setting fitness targets and working hard to achieve them. Here are some photos from today’s circuits lesson – everyone working very hard!

A woodpecker in my garden this morning!

Good morning P5-7,

Here are some learning activities for you to have a look at today.

  • More times tables practise. Use this website, choose a times table to work on and see if you can master it by the end of the day. Sumdog practise task is available until 3pm.
  • Gaelic weather- watch the video from yesterday again and have a go at the worksheet – writing sentences about the weather e.g. ‘It is cold and I am cold’.weather worksheet 21.11.25
  • Story writing: Muffin’s bathtime. Continue the story- Who is Muffin? Why is she having a bath- in a house? Use adjectives to describe her. Can you include a simile? Alliteration? Add your story in the comments or email it to me if you want to share it here. (Pobble 365)
  • Art- draw a monochrome picture. Think about the elements of art- in particular shape, form and value- and draw a wintry scene. My photo of the woodpecker above is a colour photo, but looks almost black and white because of the snow. Perhaps you could draw Vanessa in a snowy garden!

Learning in P5-7 20.11.2025

Good morning P5-7,

here are a few activities for you to work on today, should you get the chance.

  • Sumdog challenge- log on and have a go at the practice task or the competition. If you can’t remember login details, send me an email and we will get it to you.
  • Snowflakes- find out all about snow here.
  • Check out the snowflake shapes above. How many different symmetrical snowflakes can you draw?
  • 3D shape snow city – Build a city from snow using only 3D shapes (cubes, cuboids, pyramids…)  You could use tupperware, cups, buckets to mold the show. Remember to take a photo of your creation!
  • Observe the birds –  Sit near a window and make a note of how many birds and which different species visit your garden. If you have bird seed, put it out to attract the birds to where you are watching them.
  • Click here to learn how to talk about the weather in Gaelic.

Good morning Primary 1-4.  I hope you are enjoying this wintery weather!  Here are some ideas to keep you busy today whether you are indoors or outside.
Most of all, stay warm, enjoy your day and hopefully I’ll see you all tomorrow.

Children in Need

A big thank you to everyone who sent in a donation for Children in Need on Thursday. P5-7 did a great job organising games and activities and judging the competitions. We had jokes, dancing, drawing and designing, a quiz and some fantastic outfits! We raised £45 this year, a fantastic amount for a wee school!

P4/5/6/7 Sharing our opinion

On Wednesday we had visitors to our class from Marr Area Partnership and Action for a Fairer World. The reason for their visit was to ask for children’s views and opinions on Braemar, which will be shared with the Community Council and contribute towards the Community Action Plan.
