Bioblitz

Last Wednesday afternoon the Eco group led a bioblitz in the back woods and field. We all went out to find out the diversity of wildlife we have on our doorstep. We investigated different habitats; trees and hedges, grass areas, the herb garden, the bug hotel, the (overgrown) wildlife garden and near the outdoor classroom. We used the hoops for the roughly 1m areas we were surveying. We even discovered what we think is a blackbird nest in the bug hotel, with a nearly fully fledged blackbird inside.

Thank you Parents

The parent council got a gang of parents together on Friday night and transformed the outside space behind the P1-4 classroom. What a great effort. We’re really looking forward to taking more of our learning outdoors. This is a safe space children can access any time.

And they found quite a few of these guys (frog or toad, any experts out there could tell us?):

Nature writing

We made these mesostic poems outside today under the dappled shade of the trees in the woods. We made the central word from natural things we found in the woods.

Birdwatch

Us looking for birds in our bird watch!

we were out for an hour and we recorded our progress through photos! We recorded the most birds we saw at any one time. We hope you like the pictures!.
