Learning about the properties of materials

Intended Learning:

I am learning to investigate the range of properties of materials

I am learning how to sort materials into groups according to their properties and other criteria e.g. natural and man made

I am learning to choose materials which are fit for a task

Success Criteria:

I can:

  • Name some materials e.g. wood, plastic, metal, glass etc.
  • Describe some of the basic characteristics of these materials
  • Sort different materials into groups according to set criteria
  • Describe more detail some of the characteristics of materials
  • Choose materials are fit for a specific task

We also used websites in the ICT room today to help us learn.

I explore and experiment with the features and functions of computer technology and I can use what I learn to support and enhance my learning in different contexts.

Intended Learning:

Learn how to make effective use of computer technology to enhance learning in all areas of the curriculum

Developmental Athletics – Term 4

Context – Developmental Athletics

Significant aspects of learning -Determination and resilience, Core stability and strength

We are learning to:

  • Increase a range of skills and develop techniques to improve performance
  • Extend our fitness levels through various activities

Success criteria:

  • I can give and receive constructive feedback on technique
  • I can continue to develop my resilience and determination each week by sticking at tasks and not giving up easily
  • I will continue to develop my technique and skills at each station each week (hurdles, running, javelin, shot put, discus, skipping, high jump, long jump, high standing jump, sack, egg and spoon)
  • I will continue to develop my fitness levels by increasing how much I do each week
  • I know and follow the agreed safety rules

 

Fairtrade tuck shop

On Wednesday the 9th of March we had a Fairtrade tuck shop.  There were dairy milk and kit kat  chocolate bars, friendship bracelets, yoghurt raisins and a lot more.  Lots of people came and we sold a lot  a 0f items.   We think the fairtrade committee did amazingly well.  By Ryan R Klara and Pyper.

 

 

Fairtrade breakfast

On Friday morning we had a Fairtrade breakfast.  We could try orange or apple juice, jam and honey rolls and muesli with milk.  We had a lot of fun.  We are running a Fairtrade tuck shop on Wednesday to celebrate Fairtrade fortnight.  By Ryan Pyper and Klara.

World book day

World book day was on Thursday the 3rd of  March.  We dressed up as different book characters e.g. Pyper was Matilda, Ryan.R was Harry Potter and Klara was Hermione Granger.  On world book day we did posters about our  favourite books.   The next day we did a quiz on books in our tables.  We also did a fashion parade.  By Pyper, Klara & Ryan. 

Angus topic

On Friday we went to ICT and we did research on Brechin, Arbroath and Forfar.  We learned about landmarks and made coordinate grids to show where these landmarks are.  We learned how to use maps and grid references.  By Pyper, Ryan and Klara.
