We were very lucky to have such marvelous weather for our trip today. Although it was cold, the children were well wrapped up and we all managed to enjoy ourselves.
We were able to observe closely the lovely community of Fittie, enjoying its unique character.
We admired the ‘tarry sheds’, some looking very modern now. We spotted the tarry shed belonging to a Lady Artist and helped a local Fittie man find his walking stick.
The children are divided whether they would like to live in Fittie. Lonnie thought it was lovely and calm, but Jack thought it was too quiet!
We finished our morning with a play at the boat park.
We get new spelling words every week and we are encouraged to learn these words by carrying out two activities at home. One of these activities is active and the other is a written activity.
On Tuesday and Thursday we work together in our phonics groups to learn new sounds and practice our common words. Here are some photos of us playing some phonic games to help us spell our common words correctly!
All this practice is helping us become fabulous spellers!!
We have been busy settling down to work in our new classroom and making new friends.
We are all pleased to be back!
This week we have been revisiting phonics and common words from last term and practicing our addition and subtraction from 10. We have designed a beautiful new rule board, made birthday cards for everyone in the class and written postcards about our holidays. We have also written a high five of friendship for our friends, new and old!
