Welcome everyone to P1 M!

The children have settled in well to school and are really  starting to become familiar with classroom routines.  It is lovely to see them all happy and enjoying full days.

Timetable

Here is a brief outline of what our week will be like on a weekly basis.

Monday- Assembly  and Singing (Miss Hamilton)

Tuesday- PE (Miss Mair)

Wednesday- Miss Cusick

Thursday- PE (Miss Mair)

Friday- Library and Golden Time

Topic

This term we are learning, ‘All About Me and My School Community’.  Here your child will have the opportunity to share information about their family and hobbies and interests, as well as likes and dislikes.  They will also learn about people who help us within our school community and the role which they take on (for example the Head Teacher, Depute Head, Dinner Ladies…)  They will become more confident navigating around the school and classroom, creating class and school maps to help them.

Homework

Sounds Book

The children are going to receive a blue sounds book this week.  This should be handed back into school every Monday.  Please note it is OK for you to do homework in small chunks, you do not need to complete it all in one day. This is particularly important as the children are not use to spending full days at school.

Things to bring to school

Please check your child has all the following items in school:

-Wet weather job (for example colouring in book)

-Painting apron

-Gym kit ( black or white shorts, t-shirt)

-Indoor shoes

Other Important Information

  • Please ensure all your belongings are clearly named, particularly jumpers.
  • Please send all money to school in a clearly labelled envelope.

Thank you for your continued help and support,

Miss Moyes 🙂
