Phonics

All the children will get a have new sound this week.  These will be either in their blue book or sound envelope.  Children with sound envelopes should remember to try and make the words.

Numeracy

Yellow

We have introduced the concept of subtraction and how to write a subtraction sum correctly.  At home make your own subtraction sums using house using toys.  For example seven pieces of lego take away two pieces of lego and so on.

Blue 

We have been using a number line to complete subtraction sums up to 20. Follow the link before to find a blank number line. Let your child write their own subtraction sums and then answer these using the  numberline.

We have been counting to ten in French. See if you and your child can count to 20 together! Here is a song that you may play to help learn to count to 10 and beyond.
