Massive well done to Scott who has completed his toe by toe- fantastic achievement, we are all so proud! P6 are currently enjoying playing WORDLE as part of our soft start activity! Shayne has successfully guessed the word 3 times, well done! We have been counting all of our coppers to see how far our loose change can go! We can’t wait to spend the money on snacks for our trip to Crathes castle! We also had great fun with our potted sports!

It’s been a busy two weeks!

We have had a busy to weeks! We enjoyed listening to the fire safety talk, playing outdoors in our outdoor learning session, and presenting our personal presentations about something we enjoy/ are proud of (we created these the week that we didn’t have assembly, so that we could spend the morning listening to each other and what our interests include! Massive well done to Logan for last weeks star of the week, and for Rebecca this week! Miss Main is very proud of all of primary 6’s achievements and progress made in term 3!

P6 author study!

We have have been working so hard with our author study… Dr Seuss!! Our topic has allowed us to research the authors history ( going right back to the day he was born!!) and we have identified key information such as his influences, his passions and his style of writing. Dr Seuss explores crazy and wonderful stories which have underlying messages that can be very important. We have used our reflective reading task maps to break down Dr Seuss’ work, and can identify the true meaning to these stories/ life lessons. We have recreated our own stories, influenced by Dr Seuss . We are so looking forward to performing our assembly to the whole school on Friday… we have some fun surprises in store!

Also so a massive well done to Caitlin for star of the week on Friday!!

Happy Friday!!

What a brilliant week we’ve had at Abbotswell. Mental health week allowed us to explore our emotions, connect/ reconnect with our classmates and teachers and explore new experiences and activities! On Monday we had our school trip to the Duthie park and we learned all about history! We also had different activity groups coming in throughout the week. We had dancing, kickboxing and art! We loved it

Let’s have a catch up on term 3 so far!

It’s been a busy term 3 so far!! We hosted a taste of Scotland afternoon where we explored Scottish traditional foods. We had our outdoor learning session where we worked as a team to build and play together. We also had a police talk from PC Jackson who talked about anti- social behaviour. As our Scotland topic comes to a finish, we share with you our Scotland wall. We are very excited to be starting our new topic of author study next week!

It’s showtime!

We have been a very busy class exploring different aspects of ‘behind the scenes’ showtime.

We studied different camera angles by watching different movie clips from different movie scenes to identity the affect the camera angles have within that scene.

We then created story boards with what we would like our own stop start short film to include.

now we have completed our story boards, we are creating our scenes and characters!!!

25.11.22 To Infinity and Beyond!

Primary 6 have been very busy practising for our assembly all about article 13 of the UNCRC. Today we performed  to the whole school and parents, what a fantastic job everyone did. Miss Main and the rest of Abbotswell School are so proud of you all!

This is will lead us perfectly on to our next school topic ‘showtime’ where we will be exploring lighting, volume projection, scripts and more!

Well done to Colin for getting star of the week this week for meeting his targets and being such a responsible citizen within the classroom and outside in the playground. Well done!

Also so well done to Kole for getting writer for the week for producing a fantastic formal letter.

Well done to Kayleigh who got kindness award for the week for being a very caring and polite girl.
