This week we watched the fantastic Travel Safe DVD produced by last year’s P5S.  We were all very impressed by their film-making skills and agreed that they certainly get the road safety and safe parking message across.  We decided that this comes under the SHANARRI indicator of SAFE

We listened to a story about a boy joining a new school and how the other children made him feel welcome.  We decided that this was about being INCLUDED.

In this week’s assembly P6-7 discussed bullying, self-confidence and having a positive self-image.  We decided this came under RESPECTED.  We also heard chapter one of ‘Avenger’ by Pete Johnson where the main character, Gareth, explains how his Grandad lacked self-confidence as a wrestler until he put on a mask and called himself Avenger.  More next week…

Thursday is assembly day for P3/4-7.  First we learned about the SHANARRI wellbeing indicators.  Our assembly stories and discussions with be based around these – the children will decide at the end of each assembly which indicator best fits the discussion.  See our assembly display outside the dining room.
