In P6-7 assemblies this month

* as part of Children’s Mental Health Week we discussed ‘resilience’ and watched the story of Great Britain’s 400m runner Derek Redmond, whose hamstring snapped during his event but was determined to finish the race at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games

* we discussed how being nurtured involves being supported and encouraged in early life so that we can later make the right choices.  We had good fun thinking about some moral dilemmas!

* we continued the story of ‘Avenger’ where Jake’s bullying of Gareth  reached new heights but new girl Alice appears to now be on Gareth’s side.  Gareth is beginning to feel more respected and included.
