Yesterday, Primary 6B were invited along to a special tea party with some of the members of the community. In recent weeks, we have been supporting these people to use their digital technologies at home. While we were there we did a quiz. We worked in teams and were allowed to use iPads to help us find the answers! We even managed some tea and cake too!
Thank you for inviting us to your tea party, we had a lovely afternoon.
Today, the Primary 6 classes were invited to Fernielea Gospel Hall to take an exciting journey of discovery through the Bible. We learned lots of fascinating information and had great fun!
Primary 6B have been learning how to build electric circuits using the correct equipment and can now confidently identify the symbols used to draw these.

This week, Primary 6B have been getting organised early for the school Christmas fair. We have started our Snowmen Pom Poms which we are going to sell at the Christmas fair as our class enterprise project. Alongside this, we have been learning about important business terms such as: stock, revenue, expenses, profit and loss.

Today, P6B and P6P were at the Duthie Park Winter Gardens to learn more about Japan. We got to try Origami – ‘the Japanese art of Folding’ and we also got to complete a Japanese nature trail!
We had a fantastic morning!
As most of you will know, Primary 6B have been learning about Japan this term. One of the most popular foods in Japan is sushi.
Did you know you get lots of different types of sushi? Including tuna, salmon, chicken, vegetarian and even duck!
We all got the chance to try lots of different types and discuss the tastes, smells and textures of the different sushi rolls.
Primary 6B have been supporting adults in the local community who are having difficulties or trouble using their digital technologies at home. We solved some tricky problems people were having and enjoyed sharing how to use tablets and smartphones to their full potential!
This term, we are learning about Japan in the Primary 6B class.
This week, we learned about one of Japan’s national holidays celebrated annually – Children’s Day.
The 5th of May is Children’s Day in Japan and it is a day when families celebrate the healthy growth and happiness of children.
Did you know that the koi is a fish that swims upstream, and can even leap out of the water over small obstacles? The koi fish is used as an icon for Children’s Day in Japan as it signifies parent’s hopes for their children to be determined and strong, trying with all the vigour of the swimming carp – isn’t that fascinating?
With this in mind, P6B used different oil pastels and water colours to create our own colourful koi fish pictures – they looked great!
Primary 6B had a brilliant time at Techfest! We learned lots of interesting things, enjoyed watching some fascinating experiments and even got a chance to control ROV’s! Have a look at some of the pictures from our day.
