We are working hard on our Europe topic this term. We are solving clues to find out more information about Europe. This activity involved using measuring to complete the flag of the European Union. Our class is taking part in Euroquiz in March this year and we are going for gold!
Primary 6 were lucky enough to try out Street Sport Aberdeen last week. We had a fantastic afternoon and even got to play Quidditch. Aberdeen Fire Department showed us around their fire engine and even let us beep the horn!
We can’t wait until Street Sport are up and running in their new premises so we can have more fun!
In writing today, we worked really hard to create lovely Japanese Haiku poetry. We learned about the rules of a Haiku and then had fun creating our own. This is Jamie’s Haiku, she won Star Writer of the week.
This morning, we had a very interesting assembly with a representative from the UK Parliament. We learned a lot about what our Parliament does and how they make new laws. P6 then participated in a very exciting debate which was about promoting physical activity in young people. We all received a fun activity book to help us remember what we have learned today.
We have been working hard on a mini topic which focused on the destruction of rain forests for palm oil and how this destroys Orangutan homes. Here is some of the work we have been doing.
Today we used a really cool website called Mentimeter to create a class word cloud all about money scams. This week in maths, we have been learning about how to keep our money safe. We know that we should never give our personal details to someone we don’t know or trust. These are some of the warning signs of scammers that we identified.
