Today P7 presented their harvest assembly to the school and their parents. They challenged their audience to not only be thankful for what they have but to also remember those who don’t have enough money to buy food, in our own country as well as countries around the world.
In the weeks running up to their assembly, they have been busy arranging for the pupils of Fernielea to bring in food on Friday to donate to ‘Somebody Cares’. They were delighted to be able to deliver so many bags of food to ‘Somebody Cares’ and fill up their shelves to enable them to give food to those who need it. Well done P7!
Last Thursday P7 visited Techfest at The Gordon Barracks. We had a great day learning: how to make money from waste; team building and leadership skills with REME (The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) and how to protect our coastal wildlife with RSPB.
This is what we thought:
“The skills I had to use at (Techfest) were: teamwork skills, communication skills and listening skills.” Kiera
” I have learned today that: animals and sealife are suffering because of humans; plastic is a danger to sealife and sea creatures and that in the army you have to work together.”
Laura
” My favourite thing at Techfest was the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.”
Leah
Here are some photos from our day.
