Paired Reading

After a busy and tiring (and rewarding!) Cafe experience we are enjoying a little bit of normality in class this week. Today we have been doing some paired reading activities. Some of us are debating whether monsters exist, others are discovering interesting facts about plants or survival in the wild.

Cafe 24

Our cafe project has been a HUGE success this week. Many of our classes have visited already and have been delighted with the friendly service and delicious food. Well done to all the boys and girls in room 18 for all of their effort and hard work. We’re excited to do it all again next week!

Easter Egg Maths Hunt!

We had a great time finding Easter eggs in the Wildlife Garden. On each egg we found a maths problem that we had to solve. We worked in pairs with the children in room 20 to figure out the answers. We loved doing mental maths in such a fun way! Check out the pictures below…

Transient Art

The children have been enjoying exploring ways to make temporary pictures using everyday objects around the classroom. This type of activity promotes creative thinking, co-operative learning and problem solving skills. Have a look at some photographs displaying some children’s work below.

Welcome to P4!

We’ve had a great start to term 3. The children are excited about our new topic this term – Europe. A mysterious suitcase arrived in room 18 one day and had clues inside to help us discover more about the countries of Europe. Each week the suitcase will have artefacts from a different European country and the children will spend the week learning more about that country.

We’ve also written some New Year’s Resolutions and have thought about new things we’d like to try this year as well as kind things we’d like to do for others.

We’ve also got a very active term with swimming on Tuesday’s, PE with Mrs Begg and Yoga class on Thursdays. Phew!

We’re looking forward to sharing the children’s learning with you through our PLP jotters and the blog this year.

Until next time…

Miss Watt and P4
