Rain Gauges
This week we we’re learning to carry out a fair experiment. We made rain gauges and put them in the garden. We are going to collect them next week and see how much rain has fallen.
Symmetry
Last week we started learning about symmetry. We used mirrors to help us find out if shapes were symmetrical and created symmetrical butterflies in art.

Term 3
Literacy
This term we will be continuing our active literacy approaches. We will be learning the sounds ee, oo, ck, ai, oy and oa as well as revising all single sounds. Please continue to practise reading your common words. Remember short, frequent sessions are better. You can also use any of the spelling activities to practise writing the common words you are finding tricky.
Numeracy
We will be extending our skill to add and subtract numbers within 20. We will be learning to use different resources to help us, as well as being able to talk through the strategies we have used. We will continue to explore number sequences and patterns. Through movement games and using technology we will be learning to use directional and positional language. We will also be exploring symmetry.
Health and Wellbeing
We will be learning about Internet safety this term. We will also be developing our balance and control through different gymnastic activities.
Topic
This term our topic is about the farm. We will be learning about the different animals that live on a farm, produce, farm processes, farm vehicles and crops.
Other
Our gym days this term will be on Tuesday and Friday. So you can get ready as independently as possible it would be helpful if you can wear a polo shirt on these days.
