Engineering Week

In engineering week a different person came and talked to us about their job each day. On the first day a lady talked about solids liquids and gases. On the second day someone came and told us about her job as a person who writes contracts. On the Wednesday we had to design a chair and on the fourth day we made a table out of cardboard, newspaper and tape. A lady also came to do a few games about how a vending machine works. It was so much fun and we feel like we have learned a lot about the oil industry.

Here are some pictures of our week.

We were off the see the wizard… The wonderful Wizard of Oz

A few weeks ago we went to the Aberdeen Arts Centre to watch St. Margaret’s School’s performance of The Wizard of Oz. It was very good to watch – some of our favourite parts were: when the sausage dog who was playing Toto failed to make his appearance on stage; the songs were good and we especially liked the Lion’s song about being King of the Forrest; and the effects on the stage as we didn’t even think it would be possible to make a tornado on stage! To top that off, they had an excellent orchestra to play all the music.

We give it an 8/10 and definitely recommend it!

Singing for Mr Carter

We have been keeping a secret from Mr Carter for about 3 weeks . The surprise for Mr Carter was 2 songs to the tune of “I’m on my way” and “Spring Chicken”. You can find the lyrics below…

Spring Chicken

One acting head sat on 500 eggs

Guiding them all in his broomhill nest

Then one day he said to us

In a big loud voice “now that’s enough”.

Hes a role model

He’s  funny and tall

Keeping us right in the dinner hall

Awesome impressions are loved by us all

He’s a real broomhiller

And he’s had a ball

Good luck from us all!

He’s on his way

He’s on his way from Aberdeen to Fochabers today (uh huh x4)

He’s on his war from misery to happiness today (uh huh X4)

He’s on his way, from what he wants in this world,

And years from now, you’ll see him in his slippers

And everything that’s going on at Broomhill

Won’t worry him cos now it’s time for him to chill

He’ll take a right, take a right out the school today (uh huh x4)

He’ll take a right, take a right out the school today (yeah x4)

He’ll take the road, that brings him to his new home

Switch off the phone, not listen to another moan

He tried to go and leave us all once before

But now it’s time to hang your cap at the door

And now that he won’t want for anything (ooooo oooooo)

And now it’s time to sing, he’s sitting on top of the world.

Maybe you can sing Mr Carter’s song. It was a hit everyone loved it. He has loads of presents and we hope he enjoys  them all and he doesn’t miss us too much!
