Broomhill School P5/6 Room 15

Room 15 enjoyed a visit from Dr Kirsteen MacKenzie this afternoon.

Room 15 were delighted to meet Dr Kirsteen MacKenzie from Aberdeen University today.  We listened intently as Dr MacKenzie told us about the fascinating discovery of  a diary written by an “ordinary working man” caught up in the chaos of the 18th century Jacobite rebellions. The diary was written by Alexander Smith, a joiner from Fraserburgh, born in the late 17th century. The diary was gifted to the University of Aberdeen by one of Mr Smith’s descendants.  If you would like to read the article please click on the link below.
