EDUCATION CITY HOMEWORK

Across the school we have a homework trial for Education City. The usernames and passwords for your child are in their reading records.

From a PC or Mac you can sign into Education City at https://ec1.educationcity.com/.

From mobile devices you will need to download Puffin Academy.

I hope everyone had a great October break! In p2 r10 we have been putting the finishing touches to our community topic. We have learned about different parts of our community, how to create our own maps, maps skills using grids, how to use Google maps and satellite maps, about different types of houses, going on our street walk and making street models.

We held a community exhibition in our classroom, so other classes could come and see our street models and ask questions. We also learned how to make a soundscape of our street walk in music, where we used our voice and instruments to recreate sounds from our walk.

Every Friday I will be choosing a child from the class to be my ‘blog handy helper’, together we will create a blog post about what we have been doing in class that week.

Term 1

We have been very busy in room 10, during the first few weeks of term. Our topic for this term is the Community, we have went on a street walk, looked at maps and we are currently working on our street models. During the first few weeks, we also read the story ‘Have you filled a bucket today?’ and looked at what makes a bucket filler. The class also had a fun day and created some phizz-whizzing pictures for Roald Dahl Day!
