We had a great afternoon in the woods.
The children painted the trees,
the teachers and also each other.
We mixed paint with mud and enjoyed making new colours.

Today in the morning nursery we went to Wee Green Spaces.
We we’re trying to find sticks the same length of Mrs Amos leg.
Some sticks were smaller than our own legs and some where so big that they were bigger than Mrs Amos or three of our children lying down together.
We went inside a “Big Blue Blob!” and made scary noises to frighten anyone passing by.
We climbed some trees and then turned in to wild animals.
Oh we turned in to very wild animals. All the teachers got painted too. We got covered in mud and paint.
Rarr!!!
In Wee Green Spaces today we built a tent to hide from the cold.
We used the ice to paint our trees.
We did some amazing climbing.
Hung around.
Pretended to ride some horses on the trees.
GO, GO, GO!!!
It was a busy day.
We watched the frost thaw the ground and make some wonderful mud to play in.
Today at our Woods, we were playing with a puddle of mud. The children were talking about wild animals in the woods.
The children spoke about tigers and bears. The children made mud stripes on their faces and started to chase their friends around the woods.
We found some mushrooms in the woods too. We spoke about the mushrooms and that we shouldn’t pick them because a lot of mushrooms can be poisonous.
We we found some secret holes in the trees filled with water.
On the way back to nursery we rolled down the hill and ran through a puddle back to school.
What an amazing adventure we had this afternoon.
We had an amazing time in the morning nursery today. We went to our Wee Green Spaces woods and found a few puddles to jump in.
The children were being very observant and looking for rain drops hanging off the trees.
The children used big sticks to hit the branches and felt the rain drops fall on their faces.
Some of the children tried to soak their friends instead.
We had a great time making mud pies too. We mixed the water in with the mud.
Then we made some mud pie faces and stuck them on our tree.
The children had a great time exploring our woods today and playing with the falling rain drops.
We headed back to nursery for cosy hot chocolate and our snack.
In the morning today we took half the class and half our primary six buddies to our Wee Green Spaces woods.
We tried to make a tent with our buddies today, at first we didn’t succeed. So….
we tried again…
and we managed after a few tries.
We played a few maths games, our buddies had to help us.
We we had an amazing time with our buddies.
We hope to take them again with us soon.
What a busy day we have had today…
We made fairy doors in the woods today…
We made magic wands…
And we had fun climbing the trees.
It has been a great day today.
Today in Wee Green Spaces we were wrapped up all in our suits, wellies and gloves. We went to our small woods today and went for a hunt for ice.
We found ice on the grass and in puddles on leaves.
After a run around we decided to make a tent.
We had to listen carefully to the teacher to make the tent so we could all pull the tarpaulin up and under our bottoms so we could sit on it. Our tent was so big we couldn’t see the teacher or our friends at the other side of the tent because the tarpaulin dropped down in the middle.
Today at nursery, we went and explored outside in the woods.
We learned how to tie ribbon on our sticks and then we had to colour match to items we found in our natural environment.
We found a huge pumpkin, it matched our orange ribbons.
We also found orange spots on a tree. What a great find!
We also found some things that matched our colours, but sadly were not natural, and should not have been found in the woods.
The children were very excited to go out to the woods today and are looking forward to going back out again soon.
