Taskmaster Wednesdays!

Inspired by the Taskmaster programme and book the pupils on Wonderful Wednesdays have been undertaking different tasks, as individuals and as part of a group.  We have ripped circles out of paper, taken photos of things bigger than our head but smaller than a car without getting the same as other groups.  We have seen which group can get their beanbag into a cone from the furthest distance.  We have tried to teach each other how to tie shoelaces (video guides still to be made).  and we have tried to create the ‘best’ shadow.  Lots more tasks to come – but if it snows on a Tuesday night, all plans will be abandoned for sledging instead! 😉

Food Bank

Our lovely pupils in Room 14 decided to use half of the profits from their stall at the Christmas Fayre to buy food for the food bank to help other people who are struggling at this time of year. They decided to share the food between C.fine and Instant Neighbour.  A lovely and thoughtful gesture from them all which was really appreciated by both charities.  All the staff in Room 14 would like to wish all pupils and their families a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year.  See you in 2019!!

Wonderful Wednesday

This week we did some cooking . We made chilli burritos. We used beef, tomatoes , onions and spices. We had them with cheese and wraps. Joseph helped we to make the chilli. We had fun.  It was my idea to make the burritos .

I don’t like trying new foods very much  but I really liked the chilli.   I’ll give it 10 out of 10 .

Some of the others from the group went up to  Jean’s house. She wanted to give the school games and books that Lee is too old for.  Thankyou Jean, that was very kind of you.  They will be great for classes and wet playtimes.

Wonderful Wednesday

To welcome autumn and unpredictable weather we are organised again to run ‘Wonderful Wednesday’.

Although we may go to the woods, we will be doing a variety of activities in different areas including outdoor activities, and having a group cooking for the afternoon too.  We will all take turns.  We have had a good start with the pupils using their fellow group members to create their names using their bodies.  There were some interesting outcomes and some names are recognisable!  We cooked some apple tarts and apple muffins (first group were Jack, Joseph, Grace and Alan) with some apples provided from Mrs Abel’s tree.  They were delicious and some very competent baking skills were on show.  This week, the pupils were in teams to complete some activities (the outdoors were brought indoors as a result of the wind and the possibility of our equipment flying away) and our cooking group (Caleb, Kristoffer and Izack) made some delicious potato scones with potatoes that Kristoffer and the gardening club had grown.  While they waited for the tatties to cook, they also whipped up some pancakes.  Good work chaps, great peeling, chopping and baking and a delicious result.  Photos of these activities will be inserted into the blog, just as soon as Room 14 figure out how best to get them from the ipad onto the blog!
