Problem Solving

Today we got the chance to do our problem solving slightly differently….we got to use IPads. Everyone had lots of fun trying to use the app. We had to make a trial and improve it to get the problem right. Mrs Macdonald is going to let us use the IPads in more aspects of our work this term.

Rotary Club Quiz

A massive well done to the girls who went to the recent Rotary Club quiz heats. The girls had to answer ten rounds of general knowledge questions and competed against 8 other schools. Not only did they represent the school fantastically well but they won the quiz. They will now compete at the region finals on the 11th May. Well done girls! We are so proud of you!

Rotary Quiz Champions!

Jobs Fair

Today the children attended a jobs fair. Twelve different occupations were represented at the fair. The children had the opportunity to ask questions and find out about each job.
The children learned a lot. We would like to thank everyone that attended the fair and spoke to the children.

Comic Relief….P7’s Harlem Shake

Glen and Jade came up with the idea that P7 should do their own Harlem Shake as part of our fundraising for Comic Relief.
All the children had great fun making the video. Well done to them all.
The video will follow once Mrs Macdonald works out how to convert the file so it can be uploaded!!!!

Balloon Buggies

On Friday afternoon P7 took part in a balloon buggy workshop sponsored by Shell. The children had to make their own buggies, powered by a balloon. The buggies were raced at the end to see which one went furthest. Well done to Dylan who won.
It was a great afternoon.

Keep Our School Safe

As part of an anti vandalism project, in collaboration with Grampian Police, the primary 7 children attended a series of workshops today at Quarryhill. They attended workshops with the Community Wardens, Grampian Police, Grampian Fire and Rescue and the Anti Social Behaviour Unit. Lots of issues were discussed and highlighted to the children. They also took part in a design a coaster competition. The winner of this will be announced later.

The children even got a goody bag to take away! Thank you to all the agencies involved. We are going to follow this up with a visit to the fire station soon.

Homework

For our homework we had to research one of the natural wonders in Africa. We got to choose what we completed our homework on. Mrs Macdonald is very impressed with the quality of the work that has been handed in. Thank you.
