Eco Week

What fantastic work has been going on this week at Quarryhill during ECO WEEK.  Today we celebrated all our ECO achievements at our special assembly.

This week we have been encouraging the boys and girls to walk to school and on Wednesday 139 people walked.  Well done! P3 and P4 were awarded special Walk Star Awards for having the biggest number of people walking to school.

The primary 3 class have also been collecting  litter from the playground.  On Monday they collected 220 different pieces of litter.  🙁 On Friday this number had reduced dramatically to 15 pieces of litter.

This afternoon we celebrated all our ECO work with a special disco and raised £156.00.  This money will go towards buying new bins for the playground.

A special thank you to Miss Quinn, the boys and girls in p3 and the ECO pupil working group for organising our ECO week.

They would love you to phone, text or email when they are on air to let them know if you are enjoying the show.

Eco Week

This week we are having an ‘Eco Week’ at Quarryhill.  All classes have been learning about Eco related topics.  Today each class had a talk from Waste Aware and found out about ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Miss Quinn’s class have been busy keeping a close eye on the litter outside this week and have been collecting and weighing any litter they find.

Eco Awards will be presented at our celebration assembly on Friday.

Remember to wear something GREEN on Friday and bring a donation for our Eco disco.  All donations will go towards buying new bins for the playground.

Burns Supper

Our primary 7 class organised a Burns Supper for the parents and friends of Quarryhill to attend.  The guests were served some haggis, neeps and tatties and treated to some poems and songs.  The Burns Supper was a great success.  Well done to the boys and girls of primary 7 who organised the event.

Fairyland

The boys and girls in P1 got a surprise today when they came into class and found pixie dust.  They followed the dust and found a letter from the Friendly Dragon.  He was really sad and asked the boys and girls for help because he lost his home. The boys and girls are going to help make a new Fairyland for the dragon.
