The children in the Learning Zone have been busy learning about Chinese New Year.
They have been learning lots and doing some fantastic work.
Wishing all our Quarryhill friends and families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Unfortunately our Christmas Church Service at Mastrick Parish Parish Church had to happen in school due to the severe weather. Luckily Rev. Elizabeth Youngson came to Quarryhill to conduct her service there.
Some of the P7’s read the story of Christmas and Elizabeth told a story. A silver collection had taken place and the wonderful sum of £112.15 was presented to Elizabeth to go to Scottish Love in Action fund that cares for children in India.
The class Christmas Parties have started and will continue this week. Please remember the children can come dressed in their party clothes. If the party is the same day as the Christmas Concert can they please bring their school uniforms aswell. The Friends of Quarryhill gave each class money for party food and prizes. The primary 4 class who had their party today had a great time.
Well Done to the Quarryhill Spurs who defeated Seaton Primary on penalties to win their first ever trophy. Well done boys!
Well Done to the Primary 1 children from Miss Thomson’s class who did a fantastic assembly all about phonics and sounds. It was enjoyed by everyone.
The infants and senior pupils are busy rehearsingfor the Christmas Concerts which take place on Thursday. There are still some tickets available in the school office. The tickets cost £1 each. Maximum of two tickets per family, per performance.
On Friday the Quarryhill Choir went to the James Tyrell Centre to sing some Christmas Songs. The children and the adults at the James Tyrell Centre had a great time.
Well done to all the pupils and families at Quarryhill who collected lots for the Green Santa Appeal. The British Heart Foundation, our linked charity, had to return with another van to collect all the toys that had been donated as we collected much more than they anticipated.
Thank you very much for your support.
