We have just received formal notification that we have been successful in gaining  our Gold Award for Science.  This has been the result of work over the last 3 years by staff, pupils and you, our parents.  Thank you and well done!

This has been a busy week  with everyone getting back into the routine of school.   All the classes have been working hard and producing work of a high standard.  With reading and homework being issued I’ve been pleased that almost all our children have completed the tasks well.  Homework allows children to consolidate their learning, and also allows you to see what your child has been doing at school.  Please take a little time to chat to your child about their learning, look over your child’s homework and sign it.  Research clearly shows that all these small interventions make a difference to your child’s overall learning and we all want every child to achieve their full potential.

The weather may be miserable, but all the classes throughout the school have been really busy.  Throughout the school children are developing a range of skills which are at the heart of the Curriculum for Excellence enabling them to be:

Successful Learners

Confident Individuals

Responsible Citizens

Effective Contributors.

Our Primary 7 pupils have returned from their adventures at Ardeonaig in Perthsire, and have greater confidence in themselves, knowing that when they are set a challenge they have the skills to overcome their initial fears. The photos are great!

The children in Primary 2P led our school assembly with great confidence.  They shared the importance of working hard and enjoying the success of your hard work!

You may have seen photos of our Primary 5 children in the newspaper enjoying the fun of the citywide games.  The children were delighted to meet Olympian Katherine Granger and were perhaps even more delighted with their gold medals!  I was very proud of the class as their behaviour throughout the day was brilliant.  They were excellent ambassadors of our school.  Well done!
