Could you write a short story that author Morris Gleitzman thinks is a winner?
The fabulously funny author of books including Two Weeks With the Queen, Misery Guts and the trilogy Once, Then and Now is going to be the judge in The Guardian’s summer short story competition.
There are two age categories: 7-11 and 12-14, and your story must start with this sentence:
Dad was flabbergasted when I told him the news…
And then it’s down to you how it continues and finishes!
Your story must be no more than 500 words and must be all your own work. The closing date for entries is Sunday the 1st of July, so get writing now!!
