As Mrs Allan is away on a course this Wednesday, Mrs D is in charge.  All of this week’s homework can be found on this post.  Mrs D will hand out Mrs Allan’s homework for her on Wednesday. 🙂

 

Homework instructions  Monday 19th November 2018

On your piece of lined file paper  –

1. Write your name, number, the date and the title – Using Connectives to join sentences. Copy out the sentences that you have been given, choosing the best connective to go in the middle of the sentence. If you prefer you can put it into a word or google doc and print it at home. To be completed by and brought in to school for Monday 26th November  

On your piece of lined file paper copy out these sentences, choosing the best connective to go in the middle of the sentence. 

 

VCOP – Connectivess

“however” or “or ”? Which is the best connective?

  1. The shark chased the diver … the diver managed to escape.
  2. The diver must have been a very fast swimmer … the shark was old and slow.
  3. After tea I might play in the garden … I might play in my bedroom.
  4. I was going to play in the garden … it was too dark.

 

“otherwise” or “although ”? Which is the best connective?

  1. You should exercise every day …. you won’t get fit.
  2. It doesn’t matter what sort of exercise you do … it’s best to find something that you enjoy.
  3. Goldilocks ate Baby Bear’s porridge … she should have asked him first.
  4. The three bears should lock their door …. Goldilocks might come back in.

 

  1. 10. 11. and 12 – Now make up four interesting sentences of your own using these four connectives (one in each sentence) however, or, otherwise, although

 

Wednesday 21/11/18

  • Maths – complete the maths activity given to you by your maths teacher and hand it in to Mrs Allan on Wed 28/11/18. Remember to name, date and number any worksheets.
  •  Maths – have a go at the following website – https://arithmetic.zetamac.com/  Have a pencil and bit of paper beside you, as you might need to do some workings.  Don’t change any settings, just press start!  Play a few times over the week.

 

An adult should check over and sign both jotter and sheet, supporting through the task as is required.
