P.6/7 Virtual Classroom

This is a really exciting development for our class! I have created a virtual classroom for you to use. The classroom gives you single click access to all the on-line resources that we use in class (and many, many more) that will help you with your learning.

You will be able to access the virtual classroom at home too! Whenever you need help with your learning, the virtual classroom will have the information that you need. You will also be able to evaluate your learning and keep a learning log diary in the virtual classroom.

Learning is fun and I hope you enjoy exploring this new environment.

Get exploring and get learning!!

Improve Your French!

This is the best website I’ve managed to find to help you learn French. It covers most of the topics we have either already done in class or topics we have still to do. Have a go and see if you can become more fluent. 🙂 You can also learn lots of other languages on this website too – bonus! Check the link out on the sidebar on the right of my blog.

Brain Pop

All schools in Argyll & Bute have been given free access to Brain Pop until February 19th 2011.

Could you click on the link and have a go?

You will need to enter a username and password to get onto the free trial.

Username: argyllbute

Password: brainpopuk

If you think it would be useful and help you with your learning, I could consider paying for it.

I need you to try it out for me!

Looking forward to receiving your comments. 🙂

BuiLd YoUr WiLd SeLf

This is a super website that first allows you to build yourself and then you get to make yourself into a fantasy creature!

Have a go and when you’ve made your wild self, take a screenshot of it (cut or grab and save to desktop…make sure it is a jpeg) and publish your pic on your blog!

Next, in 150 words or more, describe yourself.

1. What do you look like?

2. What is your personality?

3. How do you live? (where/what

do you do/eat/play)

4. Do you have any extra special powers?

I’m very excited to

see YOUR wild self!

This week’s extension task

At assembly a few weeks ago you heard about Chinese New Year. To celebrate this festival, click on the Purple Mash link and complete the research template. The words on the left tell you the aspects of Chinese New Year that you should research and there is clipart on the right for you to use to illustrate your report. By clicking on the boxes on the template, you can also choose from a series of photographs to upload.

When you have completed the template, click on the disk icon, give your work a title and save it to your desktop.

You can then open your blog, add a new post, give it a title, add a little post and then click on the add a picture icon and upload your Chinese New Year work in the usual way. When you are given the size option, choose ‘actual size’ so that your work is big enough to be read.

God luck!

Homework Task for Friday 4th February

I’m giving you a fun and exciting task this week! Use the new link on my sidebar to get access to a FANTASTIC sketchpad! You can play around with this and when you have created a wonderful masterpiece that you are pleased with, upload it onto your blog! Simples!

Connell suggests you try Sumo Paint 3.0. It’s free and you can use it online. I’ve made a link on the sidebar for you to use.

Have fun!

Here’s the URL just incase it disappears from the sidebar!!!

I’ve added some other links that will let you have fun painting and drawing. Pencil is excellent but you will need to get permission at home to download it onto your computer at home. Please ask first! It is free though!
