Please remember all the really good work you’ve been doing on report writing in class (Skeleton work) and make sure your homework is just as good. Remember to use VCOP!!

I have put some links for this task on the right of my blog but you can use other information if you wish.

You will all soon get an activity diary from Jillian Gibson and I’ll tell you more about it soon. So for this week’s homework task, tell me about your favourite sport….but it must be one that you have taken part in or at least tried out. To help you, follow this short plan:

1. What is the sport?

2. Why do you like it so much?

3. Where and when do you do it?

4. What skills have you had to learn?

5. What do you get out of doing this sport?

6. What are your plans for improvement?

You can write about any sport at all from dancing to bmx biking. I look forward to your reports…and don’t forget VCOP!!!

Learn to Count in French

In class you have been learning to count in French. This week’s task will help you to remember and practise what you have learned. If you go down the links section to the right, you should find one called ‘French’. Click on this and you will find a menu of games to help you learn French. Play as many of these games as you like this week, but please all do the two number games.

On your own blog, write out all the words in French for the numbers 0 – 20.

Merci!

Malawi Project

I hope you are enjoying learning about Malawi in class this term. At assembly, Rev. Acklam told you that we will be having some visitors come to school from Malawi later on this term. It would be very exciting if we could all learn a few words in their language so that we could make our visitors feel at home in Scotland.

Your task this week is to learn a few words and phrases in Chichewa for Friday.

Don’t worry too much about the pronunciation…just do your best and have a go!

Here’s the words:

Hello. Moni.

How are you? Muli bwanji?

Fine, thank you. Ndili bwino

Thanks Zikomo

Good afternoon. Mwasewela bwanji?

“See you later”/We shall meet. Tionana.

We’ll have a quiz in class to see how well you do.

Copy these words onto your own blog so that you can easily find them.

Welcome to Mrs. Johnson’s Blog!

Congratulations if you have managed to log on and have found my blog!

Here’s this week’s homework task. Please make sure you have finished this task by Thursday night.

In class you have been learning about VCOP:

V = vocabulary

C = connectives

O= openers

P = punctuation

For your task this week, I am going to give you some openers to sentences and I want you to use each opener to write me a fantastic sentence.

Remember that you could try to put a connective and a WOW! word in each sentence too!

Here are the openers:

1. Suddenly,

2. Dancing and laughing,

3. The huge, red

4. Incredibly,

5. Without hesitating,

I hope these sentence openers inspire you to write some AMAZING sentences!

Good luck!

New P.5/6 Homework Task

I hope you all enjoyed being in P.5 and 6 today. Did you feel more grown up?

Next session is going to be very exciting at Kilmartin P.S. and I am currently starting to plan some exciting projects and workshops for you. Of course you will all be getting to know your new teacher, Miss Brown. I know that she is really excited about meeting you too. However, we need your help! We need to know what you want to learn about next year, what projects you want to do, what special events you would like me to organise and what visitors you would like me to invite! Your ideas will be much better than mine – so get thinking!!

Make a list of ideas on your blog for me to consider – you never know, you might just provide the sort of ideas we are looking for! Make sure your ideas are exciting, fun and achievable!
