On Tuesday 12th January Bowmore Primary School had a special author, she was called Cathy Wilson. She brought some people with her. She had two horses (they were toys) and a dragon( it was real) the dragon danced and danced but it ran out of fire…
Tim Peake was training to blast off to space, he trained for hours and hours eventually he blasted to space. He was going to the International Space Station. We all gathered together to watch the blast off, it was exciting. When Tim Peake blasted off to space he even gave us the thumbs up!
On Monday 21st December Bwmore Primary School had a sparkly Christmas Nativity to celebrate Jesus’s Birthday. P3/7 sang songs and carols and Primary 1/2 were acting out the Christmas story.
Miss Gilbert said that it was a fantastic night and it was lovely to see everybody gather together to celebrate Christmas in the round church.
Primary 4/5 sang some Christmas carols in Bowmore co-op. Although we did not ask for money some very kind people gave us money. We decided to spend the money on food and goodies to create two Christmas hampers, we gave these hampers to Gortonvogie and Kirk Care. The people in Gortonvogie were so happy to hear us sing and it made us feel very proud and kind.
Our school panto was the Snow Flake Factory and all of the classes took part in it.
P1/2 were snowmen and snowflakes they were adorable. P3 were witches, wizards and animals they were scary. P4/5 girls were winter fairies they were beautiful. P4/5 boys were bakers they were messy.
P6/7 did a great job planning and doing the panto. Well done for your hard work!

Primary 6/7 attended the Heart Start training as part of their health topic. They listened carefully and followed instructions, they were all successful at earning their Heart Start certificate. Well done Primary 6/7, we all feel safe with you in school!
Bowmore Primary held a super space lunch, we all dressed up and enjoyed space themed food. There some scary looking aliens and some fabulous astronauts in our lunch hall.
Bowmore Primary School has a clean-up day every year. This year primary 1-2 were tidying the playground in Bowmore Primary School and they have made a great job of the playground. P4/5 were tidying Stanalane and Broomhill, P 3/4 were tidying The Pier and P6/7 were tidying Main Street, Jamieson Street and High Street.
Every class did a brilliant job to Clean up Islay!
