Dear Woodlands Families
We hope that everyone has a good and restful Easter break. The staff team will be back with more activities and ideas on Monday 20th April. In the meantime, please join in with our Family Fun Easter activities if you wish to do so.
With best wishes to you all, Mrs Egan.
We hope that all of our #WonderfulWoodlandsWeans are doing well and are coping with being at home. The team have been posting some super ideas and the West Lothian Early Years blog also has some things that you can be doing to keep boredom at bay!
Look out for our things to do as well, I know that Funbox are holding a Facebook live event this afternoon (I think it’s either 3pm or 3.30pm). Blair Drummond safari park are also using Facebook to do “show and tell” sessions with the animals.
We hope that everyone manages to stay safe and well at home. Take care!
Good morning Woodlands!
West Lothian Council have set up a specific Early Years blog where they will share ideas and activities for our youngest learners. You will find it here:
Many thanks to parents/carers, children and staff who have been involved in selecting words which represent our nursery to form our new nursery values. The final words which were selected by everyone are:
Play, fun, friendship and learning
We are going to be revamping the nursery groups for next session. The staff have been busy thinking of new group names but would like the children and parents to help us decide which group names to choose. We will set up a voting station in the nursery for you to cast your votes!
Measure how deep the snow is in your garden/area. Use a standard measuring device like a ruler or measuring tape if you have one and then try to measure it using other items – Duplo bricks maybe? Looking forward to seeing who can be really creative with what you measure with!
Make a snowman family. Compare sizes using smallest, largest, tallest and shortest!
Take a picture for your online learning journal to show how you got on!
Today is World Book Day. Take some time to share a story with your little one. Remember to take some photographs which can be shared on your online learning journals!
Good morning boys and girls of Woodlands! I hope that you are all enjoying the snowy weather! Throughout the day, we will post some activities and ideas of things that you can do with your snowy day off!
