{"id":20695,"date":"2023-04-26T12:03:27","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T11:03:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/windyknowe\/?p=20695"},"modified":"2023-04-26T12:03:27","modified_gmt":"2023-04-26T11:03:27","slug":"p7me-26-04-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/windyknowe\/2023\/04\/26\/p7me-26-04-23\/","title":{"rendered":"P7me 26\/04\/23"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Literacy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are continuing to link our writing to STEAM.\u00a0 We are conducting various experiments, including dissolving, chemical reactions etc and then using the information to transform into reports and procedural writing.\u00a0 In reading we have started our new class novel, \u2018Breakfast Club Adventures\u2019 and we will be using this to enhance our comprehension skills.\u00a0 We have also started a film study which will last for the next three weeks.\u00a0 This will test our comprehension skills, and also our listening and talking skills as well.\u00a0 The film we have chosen is \u2018Luca\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Numeracy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In numeracy, we are revisiting the four operations through word problems. \u00a0This will form the basis of our problem solving as well for the next few weeks.\u00a0 In Maths, we are using our knowledge of volume, area and perimeter and linking them to real life challenges such as measuring for a new floor, how many materials we need to build a fence etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IDL:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our IDL is focussed mainly on our Leavers Assembly.\u00a0 We are hoping to get a script written up with the children by the end of this week and start allocating parts after the May Bank holiday.\u00a0 The children have come up with some great ideas so far!<\/p>\n<p>We are enjoying completing our transition challenges from Armadale Academy.\u00a0 This week we had to complete a quiz to guess the country based on a series of clues.\u00a0 It was fun but we also learned lots of interesting facts that we didn\u2019t know already.\u00a0 Some of our favourites facts were: in France, it is illegal for live snails to travel on a train without a ticket!
