This term our new topic is Scottish Wars of Independence and we have been learning about some of Scotland\u2019s heroes and other significant people such as \u2013 William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, King Edward I, King Alexander, Margaret the Maid of Norway, John Balliol and King Edward III.\u00a0 We have started to create our own fact files on William Wallace which we are looking forward to sharing with P4s.<\/p>\n
We are busy preparing for our up and coming assembly on Friday 10th<\/sup> February.\u00a0 We have started to learn our lines and songs for our performance. We are so excited \u00a0and we hope to see you all there to share our learning.<\/p>\n We have also been learning our Scottish poems.\u00a0 We each had to choose a poem and learn it to recite to the class.\u00a0 It was lovely to hear all our poems and we enjoyed using scots language.<\/p>\n We are just about finished our class novel \u2018The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch\u2019 and once finished we will be moving on to our new novel \u2018Diary of a Wimpy Kid in scots \u2013 Diary of a Wimpy wean!<\/p>\n Primary 4 are lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work with a Mandarin Teacher, Miss Liao every Monday afternoon from now until the Easter break.\u00a0 We really enjoyed our first lesson where Miss Liao introduced us to her home country, China, and we learned about traditions and celebrations that take place at Chinese New Year.
