Numeracy<\/u><\/p>\n

We have started our Maths Transition LIVE sessions with Mrs Lundenberg from Armadale Academy.\u00a0 These will take place every week and will help to enhance our numeracy and maths skills in preparation for transition.\u00a0 In numeracy we have been learning more about Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. \u00a0This will help us during our Financial Education focus later next month as we look at converting currencies, working out interest rates and the benefits\/cons of credit or store cards.<\/p>\n

Literacy<\/u><\/p>\n

In literacy we have been writing narratives and focusing on the finer details of description.\u00a0 We have also been exploring digital literacy by transferring our writing into comics using the Pixton app.\u00a0 We held a class vote and our new class novel is The Christmasaurus Cracker which is the brand new novel by Tom Fletcher.\u00a0 In French, we are looking at describing our likes\/dislikes, describing clothes and colours, and talking about the weather around the world.<\/p>\n

Other areas<\/u><\/p>\n

We have been learning about sustainability.\u00a0 We found other uses for plastic bags such as jewellery and clothes!\u00a0 We also learned more about energy, recycling and waste.\u00a0 We built our own windfarms using lego or junk modelling. We also designed and created our own class scarecrow as part of a whole school challenge.\u00a0 Her name is Betty and you can see her final version below!<\/p>\n

We have started a new STEAM challenge called the Air Race Challenge.\u00a0 We have been tasked with designing, building and operating a drone course which is very exciting!\u00a0 We will be sharing details of our progress very soon!<\/p>\n

We had the West Lothian Rangers Service visit us and we completed an outdoor learning workshop with them.\u00a0 We had to use our problem solving skills to complete their challenges!<\/p>\n

We have enjoyed:<\/u><\/p>\n

L \u2013 I liked creating comics using our free writing, it was fun!<\/p>\n

H \u2013 I liked helping at the coffee morning, it was nice to see everyone and we raised so much money for McMillan.<\/p>\n
