{"id":20107,"date":"2021-10-22T12:59:46","date_gmt":"2021-10-22T11:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/windyknowe\/?p=20107"},"modified":"2021-10-22T12:59:46","modified_gmt":"2021-10-22T11:59:46","slug":"20107","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/windyknowe\/2021\/10\/22\/20107\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>P7m<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>Numeracy<\/u><\/p>\n<p>We have been learning different fraction strategies to find the equivalent fraction and simplifying a fraction.\u00a0 We have also been learning how to convert between fractions, decimals and percentages, both with and without a calculator.\u00a0 We are currently revisiting the four operations in word problems and we will continue to improve our accuracy in our times tables.<\/p>\n<p><u>Literacy<\/u><\/p>\n<p>In literacy we have been working hard on up levelling our writing by using more complex adjectives and connectives.\u00a0 We had fun pretending to be art critics and did our own reviews on a famous painting called \u2018Jeunesse\u2019. We have also created fact files on a chosen influential person and written newspaper reports about Rosa Parks.\u00a0 We are continuing to read our class novel, \u2018The Hunger Games\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><u>IDL<\/u><\/p>\n<p>We are finishing up our study of Black History Month with a focus on racism and what we can do to help stop discrimination in our society.\u00a0 Our next topic is Oceans.\u00a0 We are looking forward to finding out lots about micro-organisms, life cycles and climate change.<\/p>\n<p><u>Health &amp; Well being<\/u><\/p>\n<p>For Health and Well being, we have been learning about various challenges that people face on a daily basis when they have autism, ADHD, dyslexia and\/or cerebral palsy.\u00a0 This has led to great discussion about how we should treat other people.<\/p>\n<p><u>P.E<\/u><\/p>\n<p>We have been learning the skills needed for invasion games, such as Basketball .\u00a0 We worked on teamwork, throwing and catching, shooting and passing.\u00a0 We also did Tennis and held our very own mini tournament.\u00a0 We have completed a bleep test and later in the year we are going to repeat that and compare our scores!<\/p>\n<p><u>Other areas<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Spanish &#8211; We have learned how to use daily phrases in Spanish.\u00a0 We can hold a short conversation saying our name, age and when our birthday is.\u00a0 We can also share our likes and dislikes.\u00a0 We can ask questions about feelings and respond with detail.<\/p>\n<p><u>We have enjoyed:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>L &#8211;
